About the Position:

We are seeking a high-calibre Fractional CTO to guide our institutional tech stack, core engineering teams in India, and AI-driven trading infrastructure on a part-time basis (15 - 20 hours/week).

Working alongside our founder and VC investors, you will set architectural direction for our high-frequency low-latency OMS/EMS systems, guide multi-chain liquidity integrations, and shape our technical roadmap as we scale toward a multi-billion-dollar valuation horizon.

This is ideal for a senior technologist who wants high-impact architectural ownership without a full-time commitment - whether alongside another role, your own venture, or other advisory work.

Engagement Structure:

- 15 - 20 hours/week, flexible scheduling with core overlap hours to be aligned with the founding team

- Based out of Bangalore; hybrid - in-person availability for key architecture reviews, board sessions, and critical incidents preferred

- Structured as a fractional/advisory engagement (contract or retainer basis), with potential to convert to full-time as the company scales

Responsibilities:

1. Technical Vision & Architecture:

- Set end-to-end architectural direction across our C++, Python, Rust, and Go trading engine, database infrastructure, and API layers (WebSockets/REST/FIX)

2. Engineering Leadership:

- Guide and mentor the core engineering and data science team; establish code quality, continuous deployment, and security standards for the team to execute against

3. Institutional-Grade Infrastructure:

- Provide architectural oversight for integrations with 100+ CEXs, 120+ DEXs, and top-tier TradFi custodians, ensuring zero-downtime execution and real-time risk/PMS monitoring

4. Agentic AI & Next-Gen Workflows:

- Advise on AI agent frameworks and LLM-driven developer workflows to maximize engineering velocity

5. Fundraising & Board Leadership:

- Represent the company's technology stack during VC fundraising rounds, technical due diligence, and enterprise client pitches, as needed

Qualifications & Skills:

1. Track Record:

- 10+ years of technical experience, including prior roles as CTO, VP of Engineering, or Founding Engineer in a high-throughput FinTech, quantitative trading firm, or VC-backed scale-up

- Prior fractional/advisory/board-level technical experience is a plus

2. Academic Excellence:

- B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering from a top-tier university (IIT, Stanford, MIT) paired with exceptional systems design fluency

3. Tech Stack Fluency:

- Deep expertise in high-performance back-end systems (Python, C++, Rust, Golang, Node.js), distributed databases (MySQL, MongoDB), and modern front-end frameworks (React/Angular)

4. Crypto/TradFi Domain Knowledge:

- Hands-on experience with order routing systems (OMS/EMS), liquidity aggregation, smart contracts (EVM & non-EVM), and Web3/crypto infrastructure

5. Cross-Border Leadership:

- Ability to guide engineering teams in India while engaging effortlessly with US/Western boardrooms, institutional clients, and VCs, within a part-time cadence
