Audit & GST Manager - Media

Role Overview

The Audit & GST Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of statutory compliance, indirect taxation, internal audit controls, and reporting. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial discipline and regulatory adherence across the organization and its talent-led business models.

Key Responsibilities

GST & Indirect Taxation

- Oversee accurate and timely filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.)

- Manage GST reconciliations, e-invoicing compliance, and vendor input credits

- Handle GST audits, departmental queries, and notices

- Provide strategic advice on tax planning and changes in GST regulations impacting the business

Audit & Compliance

- Lead internal and external audits (statutory, tax, GST)

- Maintain robust internal controls and audit trails across transactions

- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and internal stakeholders during audit cycles

- Prepare and review audit schedules, reports, and closure documentation

Accounting & Financial Controls

- Ensure accurate recording of accounting entries for GST-related transactions

- Supervise reconciliation of accounts, vendor ledgers, and tax liabilities

- Support finance team in month-end and year-end closing activities

Advisory & Risk Management

- Evaluate financial and compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies

- Interpret new regulations and align company processes accordingly

- Liaise with legal and compliance teams on cross-functional matters impacting taxation

Desired Profile

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA in Finance

- 5-6 years of relevant experience in GST, audits, and financial compliance

- Strong working knowledge of GST laws, tax audit procedures, and accounting principles

- Experience in handling regulatory authorities and audit closure independently

- Proficient in Tally, MS Excel, and preferably ERP systems

- Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and communication skills
