ROLE PURPOSE:


This role sits at the center of manufacturing operations and continuous improvement. You will lead Assembly and Sub-Assembly production lines, ensuring delivery of production, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery targets. Working closely with Planning, Quality, Engineering, and EHS teams, you'll optimize manpower, machines, and materials to maximize operational efficiency. The role also drives Lean Manufacturing initiatives, productivity improvements, and manufacturing readiness for new product launches. It is ideal for someone who thrives on balancing day-to-day shop-floor execution with long-term operational excellence and team development.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


- Lead day-to-day production operations for Assembly Lines and Sub Assembly (Stator & Rotor SubAssembly), ensuring achievement of production, productivity, quality and delivery targets.


- Coordinate with Planning to develop production schedules and ensure optimum allocation and

utilization of manpower, machines, materials and available capacity.


- Monitor production performance against plan, standards and key manufacturing KPIs, identify

bottlenecks and drive timely corrective actions to achieve targets.


- Drive improvement in labour productivity, OEE, line efficiency, capacity utilization and manufacturing

cost through effective process and resource optimization.


- Continuously evaluate production processes and identify opportunities for manpower optimization,

cycle-time reduction, material loss reduction, downtime reduction and conversion cost improvement.


- Ensure smooth production ramp-up and manufacturing readiness for new products, in coordination

with R&D, NPD, Industrial Engineering, Quality and other cross-functional teams.


- Work closely with the Quality team to strengthen a quality-first culture and drive reduction in

rejection, rework, scrap and process-related quality issues.


- Partner with the EHS team to establish and sustain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with

safety standards and continuous reduction in workplace incidents.


- Lead, develop and motivate the production team through effective manpower planning, capability

development, performance management and team engagement.


MUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE:


- Bachelors degree in mechanical/ electrical/ production /industrial engineering or equivalent.


- 05 - 10 years of experience in manufacturing/production operations, preferably in motor, automotive,

consumer durable or similar discrete manufacturing industries.


- Strong experience in assembly operations, production planning, line balancing, productivity

improvement and shop-floor management.


- Proven experience in team leadership and cross-functional project management.


- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, TQM, 5S, Kaizen, structured problem-solving and

manufacturing KPIs.


- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production planning/reporting tools.
