Head - Product & Should Costing - You'll be our 'Head - Product Costing & Budgeting' - You'll be based at: IBC Knowledge Park, Bangalore - You'll be Aligned with: CFO - You'll be a member of: Corporate Finance & Accounts What you'll do at Ather: - Drive multiple cost reduction idea generation events like benchmarking, teardown & competitor analysis - Build a repository of competitive benchmark costs for parts, sub assemblies and assemblies used on competitor vehicles - Prepare zero based costing for parts and assemblies through a team of costing engineers for the entire product BOM comprising of mechanical, electrical and electronic parts and assemblies - Work with multiple teams like Sourcing, Engineering, Product, Manufacturing and Finance to monitor and reduce the BOM cost and tooling cost during every stage of the program with an objective to keep the BOM cost within a defined threshold of the target cost - Perform gap analysis between supplier quote and zero based cost to identify the potential cost areas for negotiation and enable Sourcing team to have data driven negotiations with vendors - Evaluate & propose alternate vendors for resourcing to meet cost targets - Lead the efforts in Program budgeting pertaining to the development phase of a program - Work with engineering, PMO, sourcing and validation teams to perform thorough due diligence on capex and opex budget asks. Rationalize the budgets sought through data driven analysis - Prepare business cases for projects involving major capex and opex to critically evaluate against strategic and financial parameters like NPV, IRR and Payback period - Be the custodian of cost at gross margin level by working with all relevant stakeholders to ensure all cost drivers are captured accurately for weekly top management report out - Lead multiple projects/programs/teams related to value analysis and value engineering (VAVE) through execution of these programs/projects in a timely manner, supporting the business goals and Profit Plan objectives - Grow the cost engineering function to support all programs at a gross margin and developmental expenses level - Collaborate with other sub functions within Finance team to present a holistic view of gross margin and operating margin Here's what we are looking for: - Hands on experience on zero based costing is a plus - Basic knowledge of various manufacturing processes - Should be able to pick things up quickly with a high attention to both detail and accuracy - Independent thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills - Start up mentality - self-starter; able to work with limited resources; comfortable dealing with shifting priorities and ambiguities; problem solver and team player - Very strong business acumen and financial sense - First principles thinker You bring to Ather: B.E.
