POSITION SUMMARY

The Executive Business Unit Head is the overall Business Leader of the assigned Athena center - accountable for its commercial performance, operational excellence, patient experience, clinical coordination, quality, compliance, infrastructure, people management, and profitability.

Location As Assigned : (Gurgaon / Noida / Guwahati)

Classification : Senior Leadership - Business Head

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ten Domains of Ownership

The functional scope of the Executive Business Unit Head role across all operational dimensions.

01 Business Leadership

- Own the overall business performance of the centre.

- Achieve quarterly Revenue, Occupancy, and EBITDA targets.

- Ensure optimal bed utilisation across all inpatient units.

- Drive sustainable growth while maintaining Athena's quality standards.

- Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions proactively.

- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability.

02 Admissions & Business Conversion

- Personally oversee the complete admission process end to end.

- Ensure maximum conversion of eligible centre visits into admissions.

- Coordinate Admissions, Clinical, and Finance teams for seamless onboarding.

- Remove operational barriers that delay or obstruct admissions.

- Monitor admission pipeline and conversion performance on a continuous basis.

03 Patient Journey & Experience

- Ensure every patient receives exceptional care and service throughout their stay.

- Keep families informed and supported at every stage of the treatment journey.

- Resolve complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring service recovery.

- Handle escalations with empathy, accountability, and clinical sensitivity.

- Maintain consistently high patient satisfaction metrics.

04 Clinical Operations Coordination

- Ensure all scheduled group therapies are conducted without exception.

- Ensure all multidisciplinary clinical meetings occur as scheduled.

- Monitor attendance of all departments in mandatory clinical meetings.

- Coordinate Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Support Services, and Administration.

- Ensure no operational delays impact patient care delivery.

05 Documentation & Compliance

- Audit admission documentation for completeness and accuracy.

- Maintain documentation quality across all patient files and records.

- Ensure NABH readiness at all times.

- Ensure compliance with the Mental Healthcare Act and all statutory regulations.

- Ensure strict, consistent implementation of all Athena SOPs.

06 Patient Length of Stay (LOS)

- Monitor LOS of every admitted patient individually.

- Work with clinical teams to ensure completion of clinically appropriate treatment.

- Maintain average LOS above 30 days unless clinically indicated or approved by Management.

- Review all premature discharge requests and escalate exceptions to Management.

07 Patient Safety & Sentinel Events

- Lead immediate response during any Sentinel Event.

- Coordinate all departments effectively during patient safety emergencies.

- Communicate with patient families appropriately and compassionately.

- Report all incidents to Management without delay - zero tolerance for concealment.

- Complete Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for all Sentinel Events.

- Implement Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA) and monitor to closure.

- Drive systemic changes to prevent recurrence of incidents.

08 Team Leadership

- Lead all centre staff across all departments and functions.

- Maintain discipline, accountability, and professional standards.

- Ensure punctuality, attendance, and grooming standards.

- Conduct regular operational reviews with department heads.

- Develop department heads and build leadership bench strength.

- Build a culture of ownership, ethics, and patient-first service.

09 Infrastructure & Operations

- Ensure infrastructure readiness and facility maintenance at all times.

- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards throughout the centre.

- Ensure safety compliance across fire, electrical, and patient-facing infrastructure.

- Manage assets, vendor relationships, and inventory availability.

- Maintain all equipment and facilities in optimal working condition.

10 Weekly Reporting

- Submit Weekly Business Reports to the CEO covering Revenue, Occupancy, Admissions, Conversion, EBITDA, LOS, Patient Experience, Complaints, Sentinel Events, Staffing, SOP Compliance, Risks, and Corrective Actions.
