Role Overview:
As the Head of Supply Chain Management, you will be instrumental in orchestrating the seamless, secure, and efficient movement of high-value art and luxury assets from acquisition to final delivery. This pivotal role involves strategic oversight of all logistics, warehousing, inventory management, and vendor relationships, ensuring operational excellence across domestic and international borders.
You will collaborate closely with internal teams including Curation, Sales, Operations, and Finance, as well as external logistics partners and customs authorities, to uphold Astaguru's reputation for precision and reliability. Your leadership will directly impact client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and the overall integrity of our auction processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy tailored for high-value art and luxury goods, aligning with business objectives and growth plans.
- Oversee end-to-end logistics operations, including domestic and international shipping, customs clearance, specialized packaging, and secure transportation for diverse assets.
- Establish and manage robust inventory control systems, ensuring accurate tracking, secure storage, and condition reporting for all consigned and acquired items.
- Lead the selection, negotiation, and performance management of third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and warehousing partners.
- Implement and enforce stringent risk management protocols to mitigate potential damage, loss, theft, or delays throughout the supply chain.
- Ensure strict compliance with all national and international customs regulations, import/export laws, and industry-specific guidelines for art and luxury goods.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and best practices to optimize supply chain costs, efficiency, and service levels.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of accountability, expertise, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast logistical needs, plan for upcoming auctions, and resolve complex operational challenges effectively.
- Manage budgets and financial performance for the supply chain function, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or security.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic supply chain planning and execution, particularly within industries dealing with high-value, sensitive, or luxury goods.
- Proven ability to manage complex international logistics, customs compliance, and freight forwarding operations.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional negotiation and vendor management skills, with experience in establishing and maintaining robust partnerships.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying bottlenecks and implementing effective, data-driven solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- A Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a reputable institution.
- At least 16-20 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with a significant portion in a leadership role.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
