Job Description:
Position - Associate / Senior Associate - Operations
Location - Mumbai
Experience - 5+ Years
Role Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Associate/Senior Associate - Operations to manage end-to-end operational, compliance, and investor servicing activities for our Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) platform. The role requires hands-on experience in AIF Category II fund operations, regulatory compliance, transaction execution, and investor relations support. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational skills, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
AIF Operations & Compliance:
- Manage end-to-end operational activities for Alternative Investment Funds (AIF Category II).
- Ensure compliance with applicable SEBI AIF Regulations, Trustee requirements, and other statutory and regulatory obligations.
- Coordinate with trustees, custodians, auditors, legal advisors, fund administrators, and other service providers.
- Maintain compliance calendars and ensure timely completion of all regulatory filings, reporting, and documentation.
- Monitor fund-level operational activities and maintain complete compliance records.
Transaction Operations:
- Handle operational and compliance requirements related to investment transactions from initiation to closure.
- Coordinate company incorporation, SPV setup, bank account opening, demat account creation, and other transaction-related processes.
- Manage documentation, approvals, execution tracking, and post-transaction compliance.
- Liaise with internal teams and external agencies to ensure seamless execution of investment transactions.
Investor Relations Support:
- Support the Investor Relations (IR) function by managing investor onboarding and KYC documentation.
- Coordinate investor communications, reporting, and periodic information requests.
- Assist in preparing investor presentations, fund updates, capital call notices, and distribution-related documentation.
- Ensure timely execution of investor servicing activities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
MIS & Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain periodic MIS reports, dashboards, trackers, and CRM records.
- Monitor operational KPIs and provide regular updates to management.
- Maintain accurate records of fund operations, compliance activities, and transaction status.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives.
Desired Profile:
- Experience - Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Alternative Investment Funds (AIF), preferably Category II Funds.
- Strong exposure to fund operations, regulatory compliance, and transaction execution.
- Experience in managing company incorporation, SPVs, bank and demat account operations, statutory filings, and regulatory reporting.
- Prior experience working with trustees, custodians, auditors, legal advisors, and fund administrators will be an advantage.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/PG Degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Company Secretary (CS) qualification is preferred.
- Additional certifications in finance, compliance, or capital markets will be an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of SEBI AIF Regulations and fund operations.
- Excellent knowledge of transaction documentation and compliance processes.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent coordination, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and MIS reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within strict timelines.
