
Qualification:
- CA / ACA / ACCA or equivalent
- Eligible to act as Engagement Partner under relevant regulatory structure
- 15-20 years of experience in external audit
- Prior Middle East portfolio experience is added advantage
A. Engagement Responsibility:
- Act as Engagement Partner for selected Middle East audit portfolios delivered from the Capability Centre.
- Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with:
i. International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) standards
ii. International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation (IFRS)
iii. Local regulatory requirements (e.g., UAE MoE)
- Review and approve audit planning, strategy, risk assessment, and completion documentation.
- Oversee issuance of audit reports in coordination with licensed Middle East signing partners.
B. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight:
- Ensure compliance with UAE and GCC audit regulatory frameworks including:
i. UAE Ministry of Economy audit licensing requirements
ii. Relevant Capital Market Authority requirements (where applicable)
- Manage readiness for regulatory inspections and quality reviews.
C. Technical & Complex Matters:
- Provide leadership and review over:
i. Group and component audits
ii. Consolidation reviews
iii. Going concern assessments
iv. Expected Credit Loss (ECL) models
v. Revenue recognition under IFRS 15
vi. Lease accounting under IFRS 16
vii. Key Audit Matters (KAM) drafting
D. Cross-Border Coordination:
- Act as primary audit leader within the Capability Centre for Middle East engagements.
- Coordinate closely with:
i. Onshore Engagement Partners
ii. Regional Quality & Risk teams
iii. Client CFOs and Audit Committees (virtual participation as required)
- Manage engagement budgets, WIP, realization, and margin performance.
E. Portfolio Management:
- Lead multi-sector portfolios (e.g., Construction, Real Estate, Trading, Manufacturing, Family Businesses, Funds).
- Drive timely delivery during peak Middle East audit season (JanuaryApril).
- Ensure resource optimization across audit teams in India.
F. Leadership & Capability Building:
- Mentor Senior Managers and Managers toward Partner-track readiness.
- Build technical expertise in:
i. IFRS (including recent amendments)
ii. ESG and sustainability reporting (where applicable)
iii. Data analytics in audit
- Strengthen the Capability Centres transition toward independent engagement ownership model.
