Associate Director - Statutory Audit

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director - Statutory Audit to lead multiple statutory audit engagements and oversee high-quality audit delivery. The role involves managing audit teams, handling senior client relationships, providing technical guidance on complex accounting matters, and contributing to business development and practice growth. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in statutory audit, Ind AS/IFRS, applicable regulatory requirements, and proven experience in managing large audit engagements and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage multiple statutory audit engagements from planning through completion.

- Oversee audit teams and ensure timely delivery of high-quality audit assignments.

- Review financial statements, audit reports, working papers, and other engagement deliverables.

- Ensure compliance with Ind AS / IFRS, Companies Act, and applicable auditing standards.

- Manage senior-level client relationships and serve as a key point of contact for clients.

- Identify key audit risks and ensure appropriate audit procedures are designed and performed.

- Review complex accounting and auditing matters and provide technical guidance to audit teams.

- Mentor, coach, and develop Managers and other team members.

- Monitor engagement budgets, timelines, quality, and profitability.

- Identify opportunities to enhance audit quality, efficiency, and client service.

- Contribute to business development, proposals, and client acquisition initiatives.

- Support the leadership team in practice development and strategic initiatives.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

- CA qualification is mandatory.

- 7-14 years of relevant experience in statutory audit / assurance.

- Strong knowledge of Ind AS / IFRS, Companies Act, and applicable auditing standards.

- Proven experience in managing multiple statutory audit engagements.

- Strong team leadership and people management skills.

- Excellent understanding of complex accounting and auditing matters.

- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management capabilities.

- Experience managing engagement budgets, timelines, quality, and profitability.

- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Exposure to business development and client acquisition activities is preferred.

- Experience with a Big 4 or leading audit/professional services firm would be an advantage.
