Associate Director - Regulatory Compliance - Banking/Fintech/Payments Domain

Role Overview:

We are hiring for a leadership role in Regulatory Compliance within the payments ecosystem.

This role goes beyond traditional compliance and focuses on interpreting regulations and driving their implementation across products and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Interpret and analyse circulars and guidelines issued by RBI and NPCI, and assess their impact on business and product flows

- Translate regulatory requirements into clear product workflows, business rules, and system-level controls

- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to drive end-to-end implementation of regulatory changes

- Identify compliance risks and design practical preventive and detective controls

- Manage regulatory reporting, audits, and stakeholder communication

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- 8+ years of experience with at least 2+ years in the payments ecosystem (PA / PPI / UPI)

- Strong working knowledge of RBI regulations and NPCI frameworks

- Demonstrated experience in implementing regulatory requirements within products or systems

- Ability to think in terms of flows, edge cases, and operational impact

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Important Note:

This role requires hands-on implementation experience. Profiles focused only on audits, reporting, or policy documentation without exposure to product or system-level execution may not be a fit.
