Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Associate Director - Investment to lead and manage investment sourcing, evaluation, structuring, and portfolio management activities.
This is a senior leadership role that requires deep expertise in financial modeling, deal structuring, due diligence, and investment negotiations.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in identifying high-growth opportunities, building strong industry relationships, and contributing to the strategic direction of the investment function.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Strategy & Execution:
- Identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities aligned with the firm's strategic and financial goals.
- Conduct in-depth market research, industry analysis, and competitive benchmarking.
- Develop investment theses and drive sourcing of new deals through networks, advisors, and direct channels.
Deal Evaluation & Structuring:
- Lead financial analysis, valuation modeling (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions), and business due diligence.
- Assess risks and returns, prepare investment memos, and present recommendations to the investment committee.
- Negotiate deal terms, investment structures, and shareholder agreements with external stakeholders and legal teams.
Portfolio Management:
- Support portfolio companies through strategic guidance, financial oversight, and performance tracking.
- Work with management teams to identify growth levers, improve operational efficiency, and prepare for future exits.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), budgets, and governance frameworks across portfolio companies.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and manage strong relationships with founders, investors, bankers, advisors, and legal counsels.
- Collaborate with internal teams (legal, finance, compliance) for deal execution and post-investment support.
- Represent the organization at industry events, investor forums, and networking platforms.
Reporting & Compliance:
- Ensure timely preparation of investment reports, dashboards, and investor updates.
- Ensure compliance with internal investment guidelines, risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Support fundraising or capital deployment initiatives, where required.
Key Requirements:
- MBA/PGDM in Finance, Strategy, or Economics from a Tier-1 institution (e., IIM, ISB, XLRI) or CFA/CA equivalent.
- 10-12 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate development, or strategy consulting.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and valuation skills.
- Experience in managing the full lifecycle of investments - from sourcing to exit.
- In-depth understanding of deal structuring, term sheets, shareholder agreements, and regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in managing senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
