Associate Director/Director - Finance and Operations Reports to: Country Director Job Summary: Responsible for financial management including direct management of finance, operations and procurement, working closely with business partners to ensure the overall financial and operational health of the business. Has both strategic and operational accountability for the direction and performance of the groups whom are being managed. Essential Duties: - Participate in the development of the organization's plans and programs as a strategic partner - Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives and provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities. - Work with other leaders across the organization (India and US) on institute wide strategic goals and objectives - Proactively Manage and oversee key projects from a finance perspective; including timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis for all related spend, annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, cost recovery analysis including allocation rates, lease vs. buy analyses, administration of the related capital budgets, and integration of groups. - Communicate and advise senior leadership in India and the US on financial status of organization and risks and opportunities of financial outlook - Act as primary contact for all other groups within organization on any finance and operations related issues and investment requests - Has both strategic and operational accountability for the direction and performance of the group being managed - Provide full strategic and operational oversight of the function, staying abreast of and leveraging new methodologies to advance the business - Lead the implementation of new financial policies, procedures and systems and oversee the development, maintenance and adherence to standard operating procedures - Identify problems and provide leadership toward resolution of problems using process reengineering, change management and effective teamwork - Direct all finance/accounting, procurement and operations related process improvement projects to improve efficiencies, strengthen internal controls, and encourage optimum business decisions - Manage staff through performance planning, development and evaluation process. Ensure staff development and career progression. Ensure practices in place to ensure/drive towards a high level of staff morale and retention. Guide promotion and succession programs - Lead the development of the finance, operations and procurement functions ensuring sufficient resources and required skill sets to meet the needs of the organization and build successful teams - Ensure the professional credibility of the group function internally and externally with key professional organizations. Help to develop the professional stature of staff Minimum Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance. CA Certification, CFA preferred. - 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in a services setup. - Experience in multinational organizations, with exposure to global operations and work cultures is essential. Experience in leading small teams with broad responsibilities is preferred.
