Role Overview:

The Associate Director, Consumer Unsecured role involves managing and mitigating credit risk within the consumer unsecured lending portfolio. This role collaborates closely with credit risk managers, product teams, and analytics teams to develop and implement effective risk strategies. The Associate Director plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of the unsecured lending portfolio, ultimately contributing to the company's profitability and stability.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement credit risk strategies for the consumer unsecured lending portfolio to minimize losses and optimize risk-adjusted returns.

- Conduct in-depth credit research and analysis on macroeconomic trends, industry developments, and consumer behavior to identify potential risks and opportunities.

- Monitor portfolio performance and identify emerging trends to proactively address potential issues and ensure portfolio health.

- Collaborate with product teams to develop and refine credit policies and underwriting guidelines to align with risk appetite and business objectives.

- Perform stress testing and scenario analysis to assess the impact of adverse economic conditions on the unsecured lending portfolio.

- Prepare and present credit risk reports to senior management, highlighting key trends, risks, and mitigation strategies.

- Validate and monitor credit risk models to ensure accuracy and reliability in risk assessment and decision-making.

- Work with collections and recovery teams to optimize strategies for managing delinquent accounts and minimizing losses.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrable expertise in credit risk management principles and practices, particularly within consumer unsecured lending.

- Proven ability to conduct in-depth credit research and analysis, including macroeconomic and industry assessments.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify key insights.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including credit risk managers, product teams, and analytics teams.

- Proficiency in using statistical software and data analysis tools.

- A Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field is preferred.
