About the Role:
This is a high-impact B2B BD role focused on acquiring and scaling business with EV OEMs. You must be excellent in PPT for customer-facing decks and Excel-based TCO/ROI modelling to justify our premium battery proposition. The role requires a blend of technical understanding + commercial articulation + documentation excellence.
Role Description and Key Responsibilities:
The role involves tasks including but not limited to -
1. OEM Sales & Business Development
- Identify and engage EV OEMs, tier-1 integrators, and automotive customers.
- Understand their current battery platform, powertrain architecture, and cycle life requirements.
- Present our fast-charging, long-life pack technology and value proposition.
- Manage complete sales cycle: technical introduction testing RFQ costing nomination.
- Support homologation and field deployment discussions with OEM teams.
- Track competition and market movement in battery packs & cell technologies.
2. High-Quality PowerPoint (Critical Skill)
- You must be exceptionally good in PPT, including: Creating OEM pitch decks, product capability presentations, technical feature explanations.
- Building comparison decks vs competitor packs on:
1. Cycle life
2. Fast-charging performance
3. Warranty
4. Cost/km
5. Field reliability
- Structuring clear storytelling for OEM leadership: Problem (OEM Pain) Our Tech Advantage Validation Data TCO Benefit Commercial Fit
- Preparing internal and customer review decks, tender decks, and decision-ready slides.
3. Analytical & Financial Modelling (TCO, ROI)
- You will build analytical models to justify premium battery pricing, such as:
Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) vs competitor battery packs
- Cost/km, cost/cycle, cost per delivered kWh analysis
- Payback & ROI models showing customer profitability improvement
- Cycle life vs price modelling
- Fast-charging benefit calculations
- Fleet economics and uptime analysis
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- 3 to 6 years in B2B Sales / BD (preferably in EV, batteries, powertrain, automotive components, or energy).
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related fields). MBA is a plus
- Preference will be given to candidates from Tier-1 and Tier-2 engineering or management institutes.
- Strong understanding of battery packs, EV powertrain, or automotive components (or willingness to learn fast).
- Exceptional PowerPoint skills (must).
- Strong analytical skills for TCO, ROI, and profitability modelling.
- Experience working with engineering, quality, and purchase teams of OEMs.
- Strong communication: able to explain technical + commercial value in simple terms.
Preferred Background:
- Worked with EV OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, or battery/ESS companies.
- Experience in RFQs, technical-commercial bids, NPD, and automotive sales cycles.
- Exposure to field validation, cycle life data interpretation, lithium cell parameters.
- Strong cross-functional execution capability.
- Experience in Founders Office / CEO Office / MD Office roles (high ownership + strategic exposure).
- Experience in startups and/or high-scale growth organisations preferred.
