Assistant Vice President/Deputy Vice President - Investments

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Vice President / Deputy Vice President - Investments to join our dynamic team in Mumbai. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities across various asset classes, with a focus on alternative investment funds (AIFs), private equity, and M&A transactions. You will work closely with senior management, investment professionals, and external advisors to conduct due diligence, build financial models, and structure deals. Your contributions will directly impact the firm's investment strategy and portfolio performance, driving value creation for our investors.

Key Responsibilities:

- Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities across various sectors and asset classes, aligning with the firm's investment strategy.

- Conduct thorough due diligence, including financial, commercial, and legal analysis, to assess the viability and risks of investment opportunities.

- Develop and maintain complex financial models to project investment returns, analyze deal structures, and perform valuation analysis.

- Prepare investment memos and presentations for internal committees and external stakeholders, clearly articulating investment rationale and potential risks.

- Negotiate deal terms and structure transactions to maximize returns and mitigate risks, working closely with legal and financial advisors.

- Monitor portfolio company performance and provide strategic guidance to management teams to enhance value creation.

- Conduct industry research and analysis to identify emerging trends and investment opportunities.

- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including investment banks, private equity firms, and industry experts.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive financial due diligence, including analyzing financial statements, identifying key performance indicators, and assessing risk factors.

- Proven expertise in financial modeling, valuation techniques (DCF, precedent transactions, comparable companies), and deal structuring.

- Strong understanding of investment banking, private equity, M&A, and capital markets.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior management, clients, and external stakeholders.

- Experience in portfolio management, fund management, and investment strategy development.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

- A Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from a top-tier institution.

- Adaptable to an on-site work environment in Mumbai.

Minimum Experience:

- Minimum 10 years relevant experience in sales roles - private banking, private wealth distribution, mutual fund distribution, private equity/AIF fund raising team, other similar roles
