About the Role:
We are seeking an accomplished and results-oriented Assistant Vice President - Sales to lead and scale our sales organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for formulating strategic sales plans, driving revenue growth, developing high-performing teams, and establishing strong client relationships. This leadership position plays a crucial role in shaping the companys market expansion strategy and ensuring consistent achievement of sales goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Develop, implement, and execute sales strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to uncover growth opportunities.
- Define clear sales goals and develop tactical plans to meet or exceed revenue targets.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate regional or vertical sales teams to deliver consistent performance.
- Establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to enhance sales effectiveness and productivity.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Manage negotiations and close high-value deals, ensuring strong customer satisfaction and retention.
- Represent the company in client meetings, presentations, and business events.
Performance & Reporting:
- Monitor sales performance metrics, pipeline health, and conversion ratios using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Analyze data and prepare regular reports and forecasts for executive leadership.
- Ensure accurate sales forecasting and timely delivery of performance insights.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing, operations, and product teams to align go-to-market and client engagement strategies.
- Provide market feedback to influence product development and pricing strategies.
Governance & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to company policies, pricing structures, and contractual guidelines.
- Participate in budgeting, target setting, and annual business planning activities for the sales function.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 8-12 years of progressive experience in B2B/B2C sales, with at least 35 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven record of achieving or exceeding sales and revenue targets.
- Strong command over sales analytics, forecasting, and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to think strategically while executing tactically in a dynamic environment.
- High degree of integrity, business acumen, and decision-making capability.
Preferred Experience:
- Background in the BPO or IT-enabled services industry will be an added advantage.
- Exposure to managing sales across multiple geographies or business verticals.
