Assistant Vice President - Retail Merchandising & Brand Head - eCommerce/Marketplace

Our client is looking to hire a business-focused merchandising leader to take end-to-end ownership of a high-growth fashion brand being scaled through leading online marketplaces. This is a Brand head-level role, combining retail merchandising depth with commercial ownership-ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-width environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Own the full P&L for the brand across marketplace channels-driving top-line growth, margin, pricing, and inventory health.

2. Lead planning and execution for new launches and replenishment styles; manage the product lifecycle to ensure velocity and efficiency.

3. Curate and optimize assortment strategy, working closely with design and sourcing to deliver trend-right, commercially viable collections.

4. Track in-season performance metrics (sell-through, ROS, aging) and make timely interventions on reorders, markdowns, and exits.

5. Partner with marketplace teams to ensure code-level discoverability, on-platform visibility, and conversion.

6. Build monthly and quarterly business plans aligned to GMV and contribution goals.

7. Conduct regular merchandise reviews to identify high/low performers and translate insights into future assortment decisions.

Ideal Profile:

1. 7-15 years of experience in eCommerce merchandising, category management, or brand roles in fashion, lifestyle, or beauty.

2. Strong understanding of marketplace operations and platform merchandising levers.

3. Skilled in inventory planning, pricing strategy, and managing large assortments.

4. Proven track record of business ownership and delivering against revenue and profitability targets.

5. Comfortable collaborating with design, sourcing, marketing, and marketplace teams.

6. MBA from Tier 1 mandatory or Graduation/postgraduation from NIFT
