Role Overview:
Lead strategic sourcing and supply chain management for all thermal power plant assets. This role is responsible for securing critical fuel supplies, high-value capital equipment (BTG/BOP), complex engineering services, and MRO spares.
Your daily focus will involve overseeing high-value CAPEX projects, managing complex vendor relationships, and implementing robust procurement frameworks. By optimizing spend analysis and contract lifecycle management, you will directly influence the company's bottom line, ensuring that procurement activities are not just transactional, but a significant driver of sustainable business growth and competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
Direct End-to-End Procurement: Oversee the sourcing lifecycle for critical thermal categories, including Fuel (Coal, Lignite, Biomass), Capital Packages (BTG/BOP), and critical MRO spares.
Cost Optimization: Develop and implement strategic sourcing frameworks to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) and maximize procurement efficiency.
Market Intelligence: Monitor global and domestic energy markets, commodity price trends, and regulatory changes to adjust procurement strategies proactively.
2) Vendor Management & Contract Negotiation:
High-Stake Negotiations: Lead commercial and legal negotiations for high-value contracts, FSA and annual maintenance contracts (AMC).
Vendor Ecosystem Development: Identify, pre-qualify, and onboard reliable global and domestic vendors to establish a resilient supply base.
Performance Evaluation: Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to audit and manage vendor performance, delivery timelines, and quality compliance.
3) Risk Management & Compliance:
Supply Chain Resilience: Design risk-mitigation strategies to counter fuel supply disruptions, logistical bottlenecks, and geopolitical impacts on imported equipment.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all procurement practices align with environmental regulations, central/state electricity guidelines, and corporate governance standards.
Contractual Risk Mitigation: Draft and review complex service level agreements (SLAs) to protect the organization against liquidated damages and performance shortfalls.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
1) Education & Experience
> Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering). An MBA in Supply Chain Management or Materials Management is highly preferred.
> 15+ years of experience in procurement within the power generation sector.
> Deep understanding of thermal power plant systems
