Role Overview
This role sits at a senior leadership level and focuses on building and strengthening retailer-led growth initiatives within the pharma retail space. The AVP - Retailer Shakti will be responsible for driving strategic partnerships with retailers, improving network performance, and ensuring sustainable business expansion across assigned markets. The position requires a strong balance of field understanding, people leadership, and business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and scale retailer engagement programs to improve reach, loyalty, and overall retail performance.
- Develop long-term strategies to strengthen relationships with key retailers and distribution partners.
- Monitor sales performance, market coverage, and retailer productivity, and take corrective actions where required.
- Work closely with sales, supply chain, and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of retail initiatives.
- Drive adoption of new programs, schemes, and processes at the retailer level.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and retailer feedback to refine strategies.
- Build, mentor, and manage regional or zonal teams, ensuring clear goals and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements specific to pharma retail.
Key Requirements
- 10-15 years of experience in pharma retail, sales operations, or channel management, with exposure to senior leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of retailer dynamics, distribution models, and on-ground market realities.
- Proven ability to design and execute large-scale retailer programs.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
