Role Overview:

As the AVP Payroll (India), you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end payroll operations for Peoplestrong's India business. This leadership role involves managing a large team, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining compliance with all statutory regulations, and driving continuous improvement in payroll processes. You will collaborate closely with finance, HR, and technology teams to deliver a seamless and efficient payroll experience for our employees. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing payroll operations, mitigating risks, and supporting the company's growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the India payroll team, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure high performance and employee engagement.

- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees in India, ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.

- Manage all aspects of payroll taxation, including accurate calculation, remittance, and reporting of taxes to relevant authorities.

- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

- Manage relationships with external payroll vendors and service providers, ensuring service level agreements are met and costs are optimized.

- Collaborate with finance, HR, and technology teams to resolve payroll-related issues and implement process improvements.

- Stay abreast of changes in payroll regulations and implement necessary updates to ensure compliance.

- Conduct regular audits of payroll processes to identify and mitigate risks.

- Prepare and present payroll reports to senior management, providing insights into payroll trends and performance.

- Drive continuous improvement in payroll processes through automation and technology adoption.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end payroll processing for a large organization in India.

- Proven ability to manage and develop a high-performing payroll team.

- Comprehensive understanding of Indian payroll regulations, taxation, and statutory compliance requirements.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex payroll issues.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.

- Proficiency in using payroll software and systems, with a strong understanding of payroll technology trends.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Degree/PG in accounting, finance, or a related field.

- 12-17 years of relevant experience in India payroll.
