Role Overview

The Assistant Vice President - Coding Operations is responsible for leading and scaling the Coding Line of Business at IKS. This role ensures operational excellence, client satisfaction, revenue growth, and profitability while managing large, complex delivery teams. The VP will own P&L performance, collaborate closely with Sales and Leadership on business growth, and ensure delivery meets or exceeds client expectations.

Key performance measures include Revenue, Gross Margin, EBITDA, and Customer Satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Delivery

- Own end-to-end delivery of Coding Operations, ensuring operational efficiency and quality excellence.

- Manage financial performance of assigned customer accounts, including SG&A control and gross margin management.

- Drive and sustain P&L performance and EBITDA targets.

- Independently manage large-scale people and delivery accounts across geographies.

- Oversee recruiting, training, career progression, quality management, and operational finance.

- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in medical coding and RCM.

- Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, IT, Finance, HR, Compliance) to support delivery excellence.

- Support leadership in the start-up and stabilization of new projects.

- Advise management on new business opportunities and expansion strategies.

- Contribute to short-term and long-term business strategy and organizational goals.

Client Management

- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective project execution and governance.

- Act as a key liaison between clients and internal teams.

- Build strong, long-term client relationships through regular engagement and strategic communication.

- Develop and implement troubleshooting and problem-solving approaches for client issues.

- Create and execute customer servicing and retention strategies.

- Provide functional guidance and direction to team leaders and associates on client requirements.

Financial Management

- Own vertical revenue management and margin performance.

- Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality.

- Identify and grow new revenue opportunities (farming and expansion) aligned with forecasts.

- Ensure pricing discipline and contractual revenue safeguards, including minimum fees and implementation terms.

People Leadership

Qualifications

- Graduate in any discipline (mandatory).

- AHIMA or AAPC certification - mandatory.

Preferred qualifications: BPT, MPT, BSc Nursing, MSc Nursing, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, BOT, Life Sciences

Added advantage: MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, or equivalent

Experience & Role Prerequisites

- 15+ years of experience in core medical coding or related RCM operations.

- Strong experience in end-to-end operations management, workflow assessment, and client management (onsite and remote).

- Proven experience managing P&L at business or account level (mandatory).

- Experience leading large, multi-location and multi-geo teams.
