Assistant Vice President - Institutional Equities Sales

About the Role:


We are seeking a dynamic and high-performing AVP Institutional Equity Sales to join our Institutional Equities team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in institutional equity dealing, a strong understanding of capital markets, and well-established relationships with domestic and global buy-side clients. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding client coverage, and delivering high-quality market insights.


Key Responsibilities:


- Client Relationship Management Manage and grow a portfolio of institutional clients including mutual funds, insurance companies, hedge funds, PMS, FIIs, and AIFs. Maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers on the buy side. Ensure consistent engagement through meetings, calls, market updates, and research interactions.


- Sales & Revenue Generation Drive equity sales across cash and derivative segments to achieve revenue targets. Cross-sell and upsell equity research, corporate access events, sectoral reports, and other value-added services. Identify new business opportunities and onboard new institutional clients.


- Market Intelligence & Research Coordination Work closely with the research team to deliver actionable investment ideas to clients. Understand client investment strategies and pitch relevant company updates, sector insights, and research recommendations.


- Provide real-time market feedback to internal teams on client sentiment, fund activity, and market trends. Trade Execution & Advisory Liaise with dealers and traders to ensure smooth and efficient execution of client orders.


- Advise clients on market conditions, liquidity, trading strategies, and investment opportunities. Monitor trade flows and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. Corporate Access & Events Coordinate management meetings, analyst calls, roadshows, and conferences for institutional clients.


- Facilitate corporate interactions that align with client interests and investment mandates. Reporting & Documentation Prepare periodic sales reports, revenue tracking, and client activity dashboards.


- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions in CRM systems. Ensure full compliance with SEBI regulations and internal policies.


Key Requirements:


- 3+ years of experience in institutional equity sales, dealing, or related roles. Strong buy-side relationships with domestic and global institutional investors. Proven ability to drive revenue, build client coverage, and deliver business growth.


- Solid understanding of equity markets, financial products, and institutional trading behaviour.


- Excellent communication, networking, and presentation skills. Entrepreneurial mindset, high energy, and strong client orientation. Flexibility for exceptional candidates with strong networks or niche coverage expertise.
