Job Title: Plant HR Head - Fertilizer Manufacturing Plant
Location: Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh
Reports To: VP HR
Role Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Plant HR Head with a strong background in Industrial Relations (IR) to lead the HR function at our Fertilizer Manufacturing Plant in Kakinada. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in large-scale manufacturing setups and a proven ability to drive employee engagement, labor management, and compliance while aligning HR strategies with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Industrial Relations & Compliance
- Lead IR strategies, ensuring harmonious labor relations and proactively addressing disputes.
- Negotiate and manage long-term wage settlements, collective bargaining, and labor contracts.
- Liaise with trade unions, labor authorities, and government agencies to ensure legal compliance.
- Manage disciplinary procedures and grievance redressal mechanisms effectively.
HR Strategy & Leadership:
- Drive the HR agenda for the plant, ensuring alignment with corporate HR policies and business goals.
- Implement best practices for workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development.
- Lead HR initiatives that enhance productivity, efficiency, and a high-performance culture.
Employee Relations & Engagement:
- Foster a positive work environment through proactive employee engagement initiatives.
- Develop and implement policies to improve workforce motivation, retention, and performance.
- Address employee concerns with structured grievance handling mechanisms.
Statutory Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to all labor laws, factory act provisions, and statutory compliances related to manufacturing operations.
- Conduct periodic audits and risk assessments to mitigate compliance-related risks.
HR Operations & Administration:
- Oversee plant HR operations, including payroll, workforce management, and contract labor administration.
- Implement HR technology solutions for process efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: 18+ years in large-scale manufacturing industries with strong Industrial Relations exposure.
- Educational Qualification: MBA/MSW in HR or equivalent from a reputed institution- Full time.
- Industry: Large-Scale Manufacturing (Preferably Fertilizers, Chemicals, or Heavy Industries)
- IR Expertise: Hands-on experience in managing trade unions, wage settlements, legal compliance, and labor relations.
- Leadership Skills: Strong ability to influence, engage, and drive HR strategies at the plant level.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to collaborate with senior leadership, government bodies, and workforce representatives.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Telugu and English is essential.
Preferred Background:
- Experience in fertilizer, chemicals, cement, steel, or heavy manufacturing industries.
- Strong track record of handling large workforce (including blue-collar employees and contract labor).
- Prior experience in unionized plant environments is highly desirable.
