Assistant Vice President/General Manager - Business Development - Shopping Center/Retail Business

Accountability Key Activities:

Business Development

- Ensure goals for business and topline growth for VRA & VRP is achieved;

- Implement short term and long-term business development strategy in line with goals and long-term vision for Pan India;

- Develop thorough knowledge of the industry and competitors;

- Lead the full sales cycle which involves market research, market analysis, pitching to various prospects, and client retention;

- Drive partnerships with internal stakeholders to adapt current centres to new business opportunities;

- Identify prospective tenants / retailers / partners / investors for different spaces across the region based on macroeconomic trends, centre positioning, competitive benchmarking and revenue targets;

- Build and maintain relationships with decision makers of prospective tenants/ retailers / partners and leverage such relationships to enhance performance of the overall VR portfolio;

- Lead strategic deals, with a potential for revenue uplift, deal restructuring, customer experience enhancement, etc.

Control & Governance:

- Help solve any complex issues of retailers relating to transition of deals from contract execution, to fit-out commencement, and through store trading;

- Support in timely conclusion of renewal discussions between tenants and on-ground sales team for the centres;

- Maintain proper sales pipeline and internal databases.

Account / Relationship Management:

- Develop and maintain relationships with decision makers of key retail, leisure & F&B brands in India, specifically those present at National level.

- Develop and maintain effective working relationship with IPC's (International Property Consultants) as well as top channel partners in each region to assist in achieving business development targets;

Reporting:

Review weekly and monthly reports on the status and performance of sales and BD activities ;

- Guide Centre-level teams in preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on deal approvals and performance of sales & marketing activities;

- Lead strategic internal monthly / quarterly discussions with the management on sales & marketing activities.

Qualifications / Experience Required

Graduate/ postgraduate with 7- 12+ years of professional experience, with minimum of 3 - 5 years in B2B sales /Shopping center/Retail business development teams.
