Employee Relations (ER Policies and Investigations) - AVP Minimum 7- 8 years into Employee Relations policies or Employee Relations investigations - Manage and execute the Employee Relations strategy and policies to support various deliverables for the ASP and GSC/Tech ER teams, as may be required, and as may be assigned from time to time. It is expected that the role holder will work collaboratively to ensure that decisions taken are compliant with local legislations and Group guidelines that apply, while solutioning or executing solutions that are risk-mitigated, pragmatic & pro-active. - Undertake HR investigations across multiple geographies - Key contributor to the ASP and GSC / Tech ER teams, supporting colleagues as necessary. - Providing specialist and strategic ER support to the ASP and GSC / Tech ER teams. - Supporting the range of ER activities, including advising on complex matters, managing complex cases (e.g., at appeal), undertaking sensitive investigations (e.g., in respect of senior individuals), supporting strategic projects and programs (as appropriate). - Point of escalation, guidance, and oversight on ER cases for other ER colleagues. - Establishing sound and constructive working relationships within ER and with broader HR function, as well as HRA and HRC teams. - Proactively instigating change and continuous improvement in investigation ways of working of ER. - Proactively supporting the development of ER / HRA colleagues. - The role holder will therefore need to be able to successfully navigate and manage organizational complexity. - The role offers great exposure to senior HR and business stakeholders. The role holder will be involved in complex but interesting ER activity. The successful candidate will be working as part of a dynamic ER team What you will do : Principal Accountabilities : Key activities and decision-making areas : Impact on the Business/Function : - Refer matters, as appropriate, within the organization and work collaboratively with other investigative functions on significant or high-risk issues. Develop formalized controls and handoffs with these functions. - Case Manager for ER cases (including disciplinary, grievances, legal claims, and complicated employment matters etc.). This will involve conducting independent investigations for complex cases, reviewing, or producing investigation reports, providing specialist advice and guidance to Businesses / Functions, investigators and internal stakeholders within the HR team. - Manage complex ER and whistleblowing issues and investigations and act as a point of escalation for investigations managed by other investigators within the HR function. - Provide proactive, appropriate, risk-weighted inputs to HRBP's and senior management on effective resolution of ER matters / effective management of ER aspects of HR matters. - Guide/supervise, coach, and develop ER colleagues on the effective management and resolution of the full range of ER matters. May include providing formal training and periodic technical updates to client/stakeholder groups. - Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of a HR management information system, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels. - Effectively engage and manage relationships with legal counsels; work on litigation strategy with respect to employment disputes; ownership & accountability for outcomes Typical Targets and Measures : - Reports of investigations are produced with high degree of accuracy, with concrete recommendations and in a timely manner. - Risks are identified and appropriate investigations are conducted. - Appropriate recommendations are provided to mitigate, and control identified risks. - Policies and activities adhere to Group ER guidelines. - Employee Relations Risk is managed within the defined thresholds. - Enhanced HR and line manager capability - Effective defense is created for all litigations against bank arising out of investigations / conduct issues Qualifications : Experience & Education : - Professional qualification in HR or employment law - At least 8 to 10 years' experience in Employee Relations / HR Business Partner / Legal Consultancy, with demonstrated understanding of employee relations / case management / investigations. - Knowledge or experience of financial services - Regional or global experience preferred - Corporate experience and regulatory / government experience an advantage, but not essential Skills : - Strong understanding of Employee Relations Principles for handling employee grievance / conduct / whistleblowing issues, business transformation, regulatory hearing / litigation management. - Ability to identify, analyze / evaluate and resolve ER issues and provide consultation to management. Lateral thinking/problem solving skills. - Strong written and communication skills with experience of management presentation, report writing, drafting guidance materials/policies etc. - Strong listening, negotiation and analytical skills necessary for coaching business representatives, managers & employees. - Ability to manage effective interactions with senior management in a matrix organization. Ability to successfully work with and constructively influence colleagues and multiple stakeholders - Strict adherence to the requirements of confidentiality, discretion and integrity. Demonstrates positive and collaborative values and behaviors reflected across all people delivery touch points. - Strong customer focus and employee experience perspective, as well as external best practice and best practice understanding
