Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and analytical Credit Risk professional with 710 years of experience in credit underwriting within NBFCs, Banks, Financial Institutions or Supply Chain Finance organizations. The incumbent will be responsible for independently evaluating credit proposals in the 15 Crore ticket size across Supply Chain Finance, Factoring, Receivables Financing, Working Capital and SME/Corporate Lending.
The role requires a strong understanding of financial analysis, credit underwriting, risk assessment, industry evaluation, banking behaviour analysis and transaction structuring. The candidate will work closely with Business, Risk, Legal, Operations and Collections teams to ensure quality asset creation while maintaining the Company's risk appetite.
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Assessment & Underwriting:
- Evaluate credit proposals for Supply Chain Finance, Factoring, Invoice Discounting, Receivables Financing, Vendor Finance, Dealer Finance and Working Capital facilities.
- Independently underwrite credit proposals with ticket sizes ranging from 1 Crore to 5 Crore.
- Prepare detailed Credit Appraisal Notes (CAN) and recommendation memos for approval by the Credit Committee.
- Assess borrower repayment capacity using quantitative and qualitative parameters.
- Analyze customer financial statements, GST data, bank statements, cash flows, management profile and business model.
- Evaluate leverage, liquidity, profitability, debt servicing capability and working capital cycle.
- Assess customer concentration, debtor quality, supplier dependency and overall business sustainability.
- Review existing banking arrangements, borrowing structure and credit bureau reports.
Supply Chain Finance & Factoring Assessment:
- Evaluate receivables quality, debtor ageing, customer concentration and payment behaviour.
- Assess anchor strength, vendor ecosystem and transaction flows.
- Review assignment structures, underlying invoices and commercial contracts.
- Analyze trade cycles and cash conversion cycles across industries.
- Evaluate risks associated with domestic and export factoring transactions.
- Recommend appropriate credit structures, exposure limits and collateral requirements based on transaction risks.
Risk Management:
- Identify credit, operational and fraud risks associated with lending proposals.
- Recommend suitable mitigants including collateral, guarantees, covenants and monitoring mechanisms.
- Ensure underwriting decisions comply with the Company's Credit Policy and Risk Appetite Framework.
- Monitor portfolio quality and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Participate in portfolio reviews, stress testing and early warning signal identification.
Due Diligence & Stakeholder Coordination:
- Conduct customer discussions and business visits to understand operations, management capability and business viability.
- Coordinate with Legal, Technical, Operations, Risk, Compliance, RCU/FCU and Collections teams during appraisal.
- Review legal, valuation and due diligence reports before final recommendation.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and documentation standards.
Portfolio Monitoring:
- Monitor post-disbursement portfolio performance.
- Review overdue accounts, delinquency trends and early warning indicators.
- Support periodic portfolio reviews and policy refinements based on portfolio behaviour.
Process Improvement:
- Drive improvements in underwriting quality, turnaround time and operational efficiency.
- Contribute towards development of scorecards, underwriting frameworks and credit policies.
- Mentor junior credit analysts and managers on underwriting standards and best practices.
Qualifications:
- MBA (Finance), CA, CFA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics or related discipline.
Experience:
- 7 - 12 years of credit underwriting experience in NBFCs, Banks or Financial Institutions.
- Experience in Supply Chain Finance, Factoring, SME Lending, Working Capital Finance, LAP or Corporate Credit.
- Hands-on experience in underwriting credit facilities ranging from 1 Crore to 5 Crore.
- Exposure to structured lending, receivables financing or trade finance will be preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Strong financial statement analysis.

- Knowledge of RBI regulations applicable to NBFC lending.
