Purpose of the Role:
- The AVP - Communications will lead and execute MCXs internal and external communication strategies to enhance brand credibility, transparency, and stakeholder trust.
- This role is pivotal in managing media relations, corporate reputation, public affairs, thought leadership, and internal communications.
Job Description (Role and Responsibilities):
The incumbent will work closely with leadership, regulatory bodies, media, and various internal teams to craft consistent messaging and ensure alignment with the Exchanges mission, vision, and strategic initiatives:
1. Corporate Communications Strategy:
- Design and execute a comprehensive communications strategy in line with MCXs brand and business goals.
Internal:
- Maintain consistency in tone, narrative, and brand voice across all channels.
- Act as custodian of corporate messaging and reputation management.
2. Media Relations & PR:
- Build and manage strong relationships with key financial and business media houses.
- Draft and disseminate press releases, media advisories, and briefing notes.
- Coordinate with PR agencies for media coverage, crisis management, and campaign rollouts.
- Monitor media coverage and provide intelligence reports to senior leadership.
3. Internal Communications:
- Strengthen internal culture through structured communication campaigns, townhalls, newsletters, leadership messages, and employee engagement content.
- Facilitate transparent, two-way communication between leadership and staff.
- Work with HR on internal branding, change communication, and employee alignment initiatives.
4. Crisis Communication & Reputation Management:
- Develop and maintain a crisis communications playbook.
- Lead rapid-response communication efforts during sensitive situations, regulatory developments, or market events.
- Provide strategic counsel to management during reputational risk scenarios.
5. Regulatory & Stakeholder Communications:
- Draft formal communication to regulatory bodies (e.g., SEBI), industry bodies, and key market stakeholders.
- Ensure transparency, compliance, and alignment in all external communications with governing authorities.
6. Content Development:
- Oversee creation of speeches, thought leadership articles, op-eds, blogs, presentations, and video scripts for senior management.
- Lead the editorial direction and approval process for corporate documents, media kits, and marketing communication (in collaboration with the Marketing team).
7. Digital Communications:
- Support digital storytelling through corporate social media channels and website content.
- Collaborate with digital and marketing teams to integrate corporate messaging in digital campaigns.
Candidate Profile :
- 14-17 years of relevant functional experience preferably in BFSI domain, well-versed in handling integrated Communication strategy, brand management, managing media relations, corporate reputation, public affairs, thought leadership, internal communications, formal communication with regulatory bodies, industry bodies and other stakeholders.
