
JOB SUMMARY:
As AVP - Client Acquisition, you will be responsible for identifying, engaging and onboarding private companies (SMEs, mid-size firms, growing corporates) who are potential candidates for IPOs, FPOs, or other capital-raising transactions. You will act as the first point of contact between prospective clients and our merchant-banking team, build relationships, pitch our full suite of services, and drive deal origination.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and approach private companies (SMEs / mid-size / growth-stage) that are potential candidates for IPO, capital raising or listing.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients and leads - track their business, financials, growth plans and capital needs.
- Prepare pitch books, company profiles, investment-memos / proposal decks to present services and value proposition.
- Pitch and present full spectrum of merchant-banking services (IPO / FPO issue management, underwriting, valuation, corporate-advisory, private placements, compliance support).
- Build and nurture relationships with company promoters, CFOs, CEOs, decision-makers, investors and industry contacts, to source mandates and referrals.
- Stay updated with capital-market regulations, listing norms, regulatory compliance (e.g. SEBI / listing rules), and advise clients accordingly.
- Coordinate internally with legal / compliance / issue-management / underwriting / execution teams to ensure smooth onboarding and transition once mandate is secured.
- Drive business development - actively scout industries/sectors with capital-raising potential, keep track of market & industry trends, and pitch to companies accordingly.
- Negotiate and finalize mandate terms, service scope and fees with clients, and ensure clarity on deliverables, timelines, regulatory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MBA / CA / CFA / CS / LLB (or equivalent) - preferable with background in finance, investment banking, corporate laws, capital markets.
- Business-development mindset: proactive, result-oriented, persuasive, with ability to work under pressure and deliver targets.
- Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience in merchant banking, investment banking, corporate finance or capital markets advisory.
- Outstanding communication & interpersonal skills - ability to pitch, negotiate, build long-term relationships with promoters / corporate decision-makers.
