Job Title : Assistant Vice President - Category (E-Commerce) | P&L Management.

Location : Mumbai.

Education. MBA from Tier 1 or Tier 2 Institutes (IIMs, ISB, XLRI, SPJIMR, MDI, NMIMS, JBIMS, etc.).

Role Overview. The Assistant Vice President - Category (E-Commerce) will own end-to-end P&L responsibility for assigned FMCG categories across e-commerce platforms. The role requires strategic leadership, commercial acumen, and strong execution capability to drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share across marketplaces and brand.com channels.

Key Responsibilities:


P&L & Business Ownership:

- Own and manage full P&L for assigned e-commerce categories.

- Drive topline growth while improving gross margins, contribution margins, and profitability.

- Develop annual operating plans, budgets, and forecasts.

Category & Commercial Strategy:

- Define category growth strategy, assortment planning, pricing architecture, and promotion calendars.

- Lead negotiations with marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, etc.).

- Drive JBP (Joint Business Planning) with key e-commerce partners.

E-Commerce Growth & Execution:

- Scale sales across marketplaces, quick commerce, and D2C platforms.

- Optimize visibility, search, content, and media spends to improve ROAS.

- Leverage data to improve conversion, traffic, and repeat purchase.

Cross-Functional Leadership:

- Work closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Demand Planning teams.

- Ensure supply availability, inventory optimization, and minimal stock-outs.

- Align brand campaigns with e-commerce execution.

Team Leadership:

- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing category and key account teams.

- Drive a performance-driven, data-led culture.

Experience & Skill Requirements:

Experience:

- 5-10 years of experience, with significant exposure to E-Commerce P&L ownership.

- Candidates currently working with or having prior experience in Retail FMCG Brands.

- Strong background in managing large categories on Indian e-commerce platforms.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong commercial and financial acumen.

- Deep understanding of e-commerce metrics (GMV, CM1/CM2, ROAS, CAC, inventory turns).

- Proven negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

- Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability.

- Data-driven decision-making mindset.
