
Job Description - Assistant Relationship Manager (Corporate Banking)

Reports to: Relationship Manager / Senior RM
Role Overview
The Assistant Relationship Manager (ARM) will support the Corporate Banking team in managing and expanding relationships with large corporate clients (turnover > - 7.50 Bn). The role involves credit appraisal, financial analysis, coordination with internal stakeholders, and contributing to business growth across various banking products.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
1. Manage and strengthen relationships with existing large corporate clients based out of Chennai.
2. Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across Supply Chain Finance, Treasury, Salary Accounts, Deposits, Private Banking, and Investment Advisory.
3. Collaborate with product and business teams to increase the overall wallet share.
Credit Appraisal & Financial Analysis
1. Prepare comprehensive credit appraisals and proposals for sanctioning Working Capital and Term Loans for large corporates.
2. Analyze business models, company financials, industry trends, and risk factors for a diverse client portfolio (~- 9.10 Bn in asset exposure).
3. Conduct financial projections, cash flow analysis, viability assessments, and industry benchmarking.
4. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal credit policies, and provisioning guidelines.
Internal Coordination
1. Coordinate with internal teams including Risk, Credit Monitoring, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and others to ensure smooth and timely disbursement of large-value corporate credit facilities.

3. Ensure high standards of credit quality, due diligence, and adherence to banking regulations.
4. Monitor credit performance and raise early warning signals where required.
Required Skills & Competencies
1. Strong understanding of corporate finance, credit appraisal, and financial statement analysis.
2. Ability to interpret financial models, cash flows, and industry data.
3. Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
4. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
5. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Educational & Experience Requirements
1. MBA (Finance), CA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
2. At least 2 years of experience in Corporate Banking, Credit Analysis, Financial Analysis, or related roles.
3. Prior experience managing large corporate portfolios is an advantage.
