Job Title: Assistant Professor Pharmacology
Department: Pharmacology / School of Medicine / Faculty of Pharmacy
Reports to: Head of Department / Dean
Job Summary: The Assistant Professor of Pharmacology will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate students, conducting research, supervising student projects, and contributing to academic service and professional development within the department. The role involves both didactic and practical instruction in pharmacology and related biomedical sciences.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Academic Duties:
- Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions in pharmacology and related disciplines.
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments in accordance with curriculum standards.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Participate in curriculum design, development, and evaluation.
- Employ innovative and technology-enhanced teaching methods to improve student learning outcomes.
Research Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in pharmacology or related biomedical sciences.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national/international conferences.
- Seek external research funding and contribute to the departments research profile.
- Supervise and mentor student researchers and junior faculty in research activities.
Administrative & Professional Duties:
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and accreditation activities.
- Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
