Role Overview :

The Assistant Plant Head role is a critical leadership position responsible for supporting the Plant Head in overseeing all aspects of plant operations in Ahmedabad. This role involves collaborating closely with production, quality, EHS, supply chain, and maintenance teams to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing processes.


The Assistant Plant Head will play a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering a culture of operational excellence, directly impacting the plant's productivity, profitability, and adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities :

- Support the Plant Head in managing overall plant operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements.

- Oversee production planning and execution to meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing downtime.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in production processes, leveraging Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

- Ensure adherence to quality control standards and implement corrective actions to address any deviations, maintaining product integrity and customer satisfaction.

- Champion EHS programs and initiatives, promoting a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

- Collaborate with the supply chain team to optimize material flow, inventory management, and procurement processes, minimizing disruptions and maximizing cost savings.

- Develop and mentor plant personnel, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.

- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies to improve plant performance in areas such as production output, quality, safety, and cost efficiency.

- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to address operational challenges and implement innovative solutions.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated ability to manage and optimize plant operations, including production planning, resource allocation, and process improvement.

- Proven expertise in implementing and maintaining quality control systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and customer requirements.

- Strong understanding of EHS regulations and best practices, with a commitment to promoting a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.

- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address operational challenges effectively.

- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices, including inventory control, procurement, and logistics.

- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

- 8 - 12 years of experience in plant operations management within the chemical, pharmaceutical, or related industry.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
