Roles & Responsibilities:
- The Senior accountants produce management accounts in both Sun and JDE ledgers, provide detailed ME commentary, Balance Sheet reconciliations and substantiations. There is a requirement to work with stakeholders to investigate issues to resolution. On occasions there are nonstandard transactions that need to be coordinated across the two different ledgers.
- The team spends time on continuous improvement projects to improve efficiency.
- The senior accountant would also work with the accountants who complete transactional accounting entries, to ensure accuracy and fix potential issues.
- To assist the Senior Manager in production of accurate management accounts, and relevant commentary, within the tight reporting deadlines within Finance function.
- Liaise closely with regional finance teams (primarily Europe and North America-based) on results and reporting.
- Prepare and review reconciliations to verify the accuracy of management accounts and perform monthly, quarterly and year-to-date variance analysis to budget and prior year on P&L.
- Preparation and review of monthly reporting packs and production and review of ad hoc reporting as requested.
- Maintenance of local general ledger in the Sun accounting system and reconcile with the group general ledger.
- Assistance and support in response to external and internal audit requests.
- Assist with the internal overhead allocations process for Artex Europe ensuring that all costs are captured and allocated in line with agreed allocation keys.
- Liaising with processing team to control posting of month end journal transactions and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Liaising with Finance Business Partners and other departments out with the Management
- Accounts team to provide support for queries as they arise.
- Build relationships within the wider Accounting Centre function, the Artex finance team and the Artex regional teams.
- Help drive forward change to ensure that department and team members improve.
- Assisting in the allocation of work to team members in an efficient manner and ensure all deadlines and key priorities are met.
- Ensure SOX requirements are fully met.
- Assisting the Senior Manager with ah-hoc finance projects and technical tasks and taking the lead on elements of the projects.
- Work with the team on the roll-out of a new accounting package for Artex and identify further opportunities this brings for centralisation of accounting tasks.
- Comply with Professional Standards Manual in accordance with statutory requirements for role with specific attention, but not limited to Whistle Blowing, Treating Customers Fairly.

Skills & Competencies:
- Valid Indian Passport with at least one year remaining for expiry.
- Candidates with existing US Visa and/or UK Visa (at least one year remaining)
- Good working knowledge of the insurance brokerage business
- Proficiency with Excel and Access including links, macros, database development and forms.
- Good experience in Financial Accounting or Public Accounting
- Proficient computer, financial data, internal consulting, and customer-focused communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to follow through on multiple tasks and priorities.
- Good working knowledge of accounting standards (US / UK GAAP/IFRS), account reconciliations, and month end close experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft suite of products; Advanced level skills in Excel
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently with precise detail and follow-up reporting.
- Experience in Statutory Accounts / Audit / Preparation and Consolidation of Financial Statements
- Good knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley requirements will be preferred.
