Assistant Manager - Taxation - NBFC/BFS - CA

Role Overview:

We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with strong expertise in Direct & Indirect Taxation (TDS and GST) to join our Finance team. The role involves ensuring accurate and timely tax compliance, handling audits, and providing tax advisory support for the Companys operations. The ideal candidate will bring experience in the NBFC/financial services sector with a focus on taxation and compliance.

Direct Tax & TDS:

- Ensure timely deduction and deposit of TDS.

- Preparation, review, and filing of TDS returns.

- Manage advance tax and income tax compliances.

- Liaise with consultants and tax authorities for assessments and audits.

- Advisory on withholding tax applicability across vendors/transactions.

Indirect Tax (GST):

- Ensure compliance with GST laws including filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns, and reconciliations.

- Review GST input credit, vendor reconciliations, and ensure accuracy in reporting.

- Advisory on GST implications for NBFC-specific transactions.

- Handle GST audits, assessments, and notices.

Process Controls & Advisory:

- Implement internal checks and controls for tax-related processes.

- Evaluate tax impact on business decisions, contracts, and new initiatives.

- Keep abreast of latest amendments and ensure timely alignment of processes.

- Support statutory and internal auditors with respect to tax-related matters.

Cross-functional Coordination:

- Partner with business, operations, and accounts payable teams to ensure proper invoicing, documentation, and tax compliance.

- Provide training/guidance to internal teams on tax matters.

Experience Required:

- 25 years of post-qualification experience in taxation (TDS & GST).

- Experience in NBFC/Banking/Financial Services sector preferred.

- Strong working knowledge of Income Tax Act, GST law, and NBFC-specific tax provisions.

- Proficiency in MS Excel, Tally/ERP systems, and tax-filing software.

- Strong project management and organizational skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
