Assistant Manager Tax


Responsibilities:


- Manage and oversee all aspects of Direct Tax compliance, including preparation and filing of corporate tax returns (Income Tax Returns), advance tax computations, and tax audit support.


- Handle VAT (Value Added Tax) compliance, including accurate calculation, timely filing of returns, and reconciliation of VAT accounts.


- Ensure comprehensive compliance with all aspects of Indian Taxation, staying updated with changes in tax laws and regulations.


- Support and manage Transfer Pricing documentation, analysis, and compliance, ensuring inter-company transactions adhere to arm's length principles.


- Prepare and review tax computations, reconciliations, and provisions for financial reporting.


- Assist in responding to tax notices, assessments, and audits from tax authorities, providing necessary documentation and explanations.


- Conduct tax research and provide advisory support on various direct and indirect tax matters to internal stakeholders.


- Identify opportunities for tax optimization and efficiency while ensuring full compliance.


- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, legal, and business teams to ensure tax implications are considered in business decisions.


- Maintain accurate tax records and documentation for audit purposes.


- Assist in the preparation of tax-related disclosures for financial statements.


- Contribute to process improvements within the taxation function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.


- Provide guidance and support to junior team members as needed.


Required Skills & Qualifications:


- Education: MBA / M.Com / CA (Chartered Accountant) qualification is mandatory.


- 5+ years of progressive experience in Taxation.


- Strong expertise in Direct Tax, including corporate tax compliance, tax planning, and tax assessments in India.


- Proven experience with VAT (Value Added Tax) compliance and reporting.


- Comprehensive knowledge of Indian Taxation laws and regulations (Income Tax Act, GST, etc.).


- Hands-on experience and understanding of Transfer Pricing principles, documentation, and compliance requirements.


- Experience in preparing tax computations, reconciliations, and tax provisions.


- Ability to conduct tax research and provide accurate tax advisory.


- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.


- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.


- Good communication skills (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills.


- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel.
