Assistant Manager - Solar Design & Drawing

Description:


Key Roles and Responsibilities:


- Design & Documentation


- Review and analyze tender documents and prepare technical queries as required.


- Conduct site visits, collect data, and prepare detailed site visit reports.


- Prepare BOQ/BOM for cost optimization and procurement planning.


- Perform load calculations, CT/PT sizing, battery charger, UPS, and transformer selection.


- Prepare and review GTP (Guaranteed Technical Particulars), GA (General Arrangement) drawings, and POS (Purchase Order Specifications) in compliance with tender and IEC/IEEE/IS standards.


- Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLD), layout drawings, cable schedules, and detailed electrical system designs (MCR, ICR, YARD, etc.).


- Ensure engineering approvals for all GTP and design submissions.


- Project Coordination & Technical Support


- Coordinate with design consultants and internal stakeholders to finalize designs and drawings.


- Design photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.


- Develop electrical SLDs, panel schedules, and CAD layouts for project implementation.


- Optimize energy generation using PV Syst and perform performance simulations.


- Support project teams during installation, testing, and commissioning phases.


- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and identify cost-reduction opportunities without compromising quality.


- Implement and uphold quality and safety standards for solar installations.


Desired Skills and Requirements:


- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Solar Lab, and PV Syst software.


- Strong understanding of electrical and earthing layouts.


- Sound knowledge of solar plant design standards, electrical load flow, and protection systems.


- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.


- Strong accountability, attention to detail, and commitment to project timelines.


- Good communication and coordination abilities across multidisciplinary teams.


Education & Experience:


- B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).


- 4-5 years of hands-on experience in Solar Design and Drawing, preferably in utility-scale or commercial solar projects.
