Role Overview:
The Assistant Sales Manager role is responsible for driving sales growth of PET preforms and related packaging materials on PAN India level. This role involves developing new business opportunities, achieving sales targets and managing key accounts. The incumbent will work closely with the senior management, production team, logistics team, marketing team, and operations to ensure customer satisfaction and market penetration. This position directly impacts the company's revenue and market share by expanding its customer base and strengthening relationships with new and existing clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve or exceed sales targets for PET preforms and packaging materials on PAN India.
- Manage and nurture relationships with key accounts in the beverage, food, and pharmaceutical industries, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities by prospecting potential clients and presenting the company's product offerings.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and market insights to the management team.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement promotional campaigns and product launches.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and effective manner, ensuring customer loyalty.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with clients, ensuring profitability and alignment with company policies.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated ability to manage key accounts and build strong customer relationships.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth in the packaging industry.
- Strong understanding of PET preforms and packaging materials, including their applications and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and identify new business opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience in B2B sales, specifically within the packaging industry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptable to working on-site in Mumbai.
- 10-12 years of relevant experience.
