
Job Summary
We are looking for an Assistant Manager - Sales & Technical Services for the Petrochemicals Segment to join our team in our New Delhi office. In this position, you will be responsible for handling certain customer accounts for Sales & Technical services for the Petrochemical catalysts in India. This includes but is not limited to generating enquiries, making techno-commercial proposals, sales forecasting, data evaluation and troubleshooting, competitive landscape, development of business strategy and sales forecasting.
Roles and Responsibilities
- To prepare up to date sales forecast for the assigned customer accounts
- To prepare techno-commercial proposals for enquiries for new projects and re-fill business
- To liaise with engineering companies and technology licensors to provide a comprehensive
techno-commercial based each specific scenario.
- Evolve strategies to grow business, including marketing efforts, presentation at customer sites and industry conferences.
- Assume responsibility of product management when needed, provide feedback to R&D for performance enhancements required based on actual plant operating data
- Strategy for product development based on customer feedback and market situation.
- Assume single point responsibility for all needs of customer - commercial and technical
- To visit customers/potential customers during catalyst loading, operation, or start up and provide support depending on the needs of the customer either alone or along with Technical Service Engineers.
- To make Catalyst performance evaluation reports/spent catalyst reports
- To conduct catalyst troubleshooting and data evaluation through simulation studies
- To collect data and conduct performance study of operating data related to the catalyst, build a data bank/reference data, and monitor catalyst performance over its life.
- Entails travel of up to 1-2 weeks at a stretch, but in most cases limited to 4-5 days.
About the Candidate:
The ideal candidate will possess the following professional assets:
Education:
Degree Level: Bachelors
Field of Study: BE/B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from a reputed institution
Previous Experience:
- 7-10 years of sales or operations/technical service experience in petrochemicals industry. Experience in Steam Cracker will be an added advantage.
Domain Knowledge:
- A basic understanding of chemical engineering/process calculations
Competencies/Skills:
- The ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and respect the diversity amongst one's colleagues to effectively work together toward a shared goal
- Balanced sense of techno-commercial skills with good understanding of sales process
- The ability to think critically and weigh the accuracy of data and future impact of different alternatives before making a decision
- The ability to produce new and innovative ideas and encourage different ways of doing things
