Assistant Manager
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Business Development
- Manage sales for assigned products, geographies, and customer accounts in the ferrous/steel portfolio.
- Identify and acquire new customers while strengthening relationships with existing accounts.
- Execute pricing strategies, negotiate commercial terms, and close deals within defined margins and policies.
- Support the GM, Sales in expanding presence across new markets and customer segments.
2. Customer Relationship Management
- Engage with customers regularly to understand demand, product needs, and service expectations.
- Prepare and present product offerings, proposals, and commercial quotes.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and service quality.
3. Sales Operations & Order Execution
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth order processing, documentation, and delivery.
- Track order status, ensure timely fulfilment, and resolve operational bottlenecks.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipelines, and CRM entries in alignment with internal reporting standards.
- Manage receivables for assigned accounts, monitor credit exposure, and support timely collections.
4. Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Track competitor pricing, market movements, and customer buying patterns.
- Provide inputs to the GM, Sales for pricing decisions, demand planning, and business strategy.
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports on sales performance, pipeline status, and market updates.
5. Compliance & Process Adherence
- Ensure adherence to commercial terms, quality standards, and internal SOPs.
- Support the implementation of operational improvements and best practices across the sales cycle.
