THE ROLE

The role will be part of the Research team, which sits within the broader Strategy function and supports the Firm's growth agenda. It is primarily an internal strategic support and intelligence role, focused on research, insight generation, opportunity support and partner enablement.

The organisation is looking to strengthen this capability through a Research role focused on sector intelligence, market insights, competitive intelligence and growth enablement. The role is designed to support partners and practice teams with high-quality, insight-led and data-backed inputs that strengthen market understanding, internal preparedness, cross-practice coordination and business growth.

The incumbent will be a part of a team which is responsible for:

- Supporting the Firm's broader strategic priorities through market intelligence, sector insights and internal strategic enablement

- Acting as a repository of relevant market, sector, regulatory and competitive analysis

- Enabling partners with high-quality analysis, briefings and data-backed sector insights

- Supporting strategic opportunities through partner enablement, proposal support and cross-practice collaboration

- Contributing to the Firm's market relevance, internal preparedness through data driven support

- Enable real-time intelligence dissemination through alerts, trackers and periodic updates

- Develop and deliver standardized intelligence products (sector reports, market trackers) for firm-wide use.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning & Market Intelligence

- Understand the Firm's broader strategic priorities and the strategic focus areas of identified practices, and support these through relevant market intelligence, sector analysis and internal insight generation. Apply structured research methodologies including market sizing, benchmarking.

- Assist in the preparation of annual or periodic strategic planning inputs for identified practices, including sector trends, market developments, client landscapes and growth themes.

- Track key industries, business sectors and market developments relevant to the Firm, including shifts in business models, investment trends, policy changes and competitive activity.

- Monitor regulatory, legislative and policy developments affecting priority sectors and identify their implications for the Firm's practices and clients.

- Support internal go-to-market planning by developing sector- and theme-based inputs in coordination with different practices and internal stakeholders.

- Provide research-based inputs for the development of new thematic focus areas, service opportunities and thought-led engagement themes.

- Identify opportunities to strengthen internal research processes, knowledge-sharing and intelligence dissemination across teams.

- Conduct competitive benchmarking across peer firms, including positioning, capabilities and deal activity.

Partner & Practice Enablement

- Prepare high-quality pre-meeting notes, briefing documents and background research for partners and senior leadership ahead of internal and external meetings. Provide hypothesis-driven insights and strategic viewpoints, beyond background research.

- Support partners and practice teams with company profiles, sector context, competitor perspectives and issue-based research relevant to target discussions. Develop and maintain account intelligence for priority clients and target companies.

- Assist in identifying cross-practice relevance and strategic linkages across client situations, sectors and market themes.

- Support internal discussions around priority accounts, sectors and opportunity areas through structured intelligence and research-led inputs.

- Track relevant developments relating to key clients, target companies, investors, sectors and market participants, and convert them into actionable internal insights.

- Provide follow-up intelligence and internal notes arising from partner discussions, sector reviews and strategic planning exercises.

- Contribute to internal reporting and analysis on sector priorities, market developments and strategic opportunities, as required.

Proposals, Strategic Content & Knowledge Support

- Support the development of proposals, pitches, credentials notes and RFP responses for strategic opportunities by providing relevant research, sector inputs and supporting material.

- Coordinate with partners and practice teams to gather and structure inputs for proposals, capability statements and other strategic materials in line with Firm standards.

- Refine pitch and proposal content by integrating differentiated sector insights, competitive positioning, market benchmarking, and relevant Firm experience to strengthen overall differentiation.

- Assist in updating standard pitch inputs, sector-specific content, Firm credentials and other reusable material relevant for proposals and presentations.

- Support the preparation of strategic presentations, sector decks, discussion documents and internal materials for leadership reviews, practice planning and market outreach.

- Ensure that internal materials are current, well-structured and reflective of relevant Firm experience and positioning.

- Help maintain and update repositories of proposal content, credentials and knowledge inputs that can be leveraged across practices. Maintain centralised, searchable repositories integrated with internal systems

EDUCATION AND PRIOR EXPERIENCE

- Master's degree in business administration (MBA) or an equivalent postgraduate qualification, preferably with specialization in Strategy, Finance, Marketing, International Business, Economics or a related field.

- 4 - 8 years of relevant experience in research, market intelligence, strategic planning, business analysis, proposal support or allied strategic support roles within professional services, consulting, legal services or similar knowledge-driven environments.

- Prior experience in knowledge management, project management, strategic content development or partner/practice support will be an added advantage.

- Experience in a professional service, consulting, research, advisory or similar knowledge-driven environment would be preferred

- Strong sector and industry understanding, with the ability to connect business developments to legal and strategic implications

- Strong research and analytical capability, with comfort in synthesizing information from multiple sources

- Ability to track and interpret regulatory, policy and market developments in a commercially relevant manner

- Strong writing and presentation skills, including preparation of crisp notes, decks and internal briefing materials

- Ability to produce structured, data-backed and insight-led outputs for senior stakeholders

- Commercial awareness and ability to identify themes, opportunities and competitive developments relevant to the Firm

- Strong coordination skills and ability to work across practices and internal teams

- High attention to detail, ownership and responsiveness

- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced professional-services environment

- Sound judgment in distinguishing signal from noise and translating information into useful internal insight

- Leverage AI and automation to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting, while integrating insights with internal systems
