Job Title : Assistant Manager - Accessories Purchase

Department : Procurement/Purchase

Industry : Valve Manufacturing

Location : Mumbai Nashik Highway (bhiwandi) Pick and drop available from Thane and Kalyan

Job Purpose:

To manage procurement of valve accessories, ensure timely availability of materials, maintain quality standards, and develop reliable vendor networks to support production and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Procurement Planning & Execution :

- Plan and execute procurement of valve accessories such as actuators, fasteners, gaskets, seals, and instrumentation items.

- Ensure timely issuance of Purchase Orders (POs) based on production and project requirements.

- Monitor order status and ensure on-time delivery from suppliers.

2. Vendor Development & Management :

- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors for accessories procurement.

- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers to ensure consistent supply and quality.

- Conduct vendor performance evaluation and implement improvements where required.

3. Costing & Negotiation :

- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.

- Ensure cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality standards.

- Track market trends to optimize purchasing decisions.

4. Quality & Compliance :

- Coordinate with the quality team for inspection of incoming materials.

- Ensure all materials meet technical specifications and certification requirements.

- Maintain documentation as per ISO/API standards and audit requirements.

5. Coordination & Communication :

- Work closely with production, planning, design, and quality departments for material requirements.

- Follow up with suppliers for dispatch schedules, test certificates, and documentation.

- Resolve supply-related issues and ensure minimal disruption to operations.

6. Inventory Management :

- Monitor stock levels and ensure optimum inventory of accessories.

- Avoid excess stock and shortages through effective planning.

- Support ERP/system updates for tracking procurement activities.

Key Skills & Competencies :

- Strong knowledge of valve accessories and industrial components

- Vendor negotiation and management skills

- Understanding of technical drawings and specifications

- ERP knowledge (SAP/Oracle or similar)

- Good communication and coordination skills

Qualification & Experience :

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering or related field

- 4-8 years of experience in purchase/procurement in valve or engineering industry
