Assistant Manager/Manager - Indian Statutory Audit Practice


Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager for our Statutory Audit practice

focused on Indian GAAP/Ind AS audits.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing end-to-end statutory audit engagements for Indian companies, listed entities, and large private organizations across industries.

You will lead audit teams, manage client relationships, ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and accounting standards, and drive quality deliverables within timelines.


Key Responsibilities:

Audit Planning & Execution


- Lead and manage statutory audit engagements in accordance with Indian GAAP, Ind AS, and the Companies Act, 2013.

- Prepare and review audit plans, risk assessments, and engagement strategies.

- Ensure compliance with auditing standards (SA), accounting standards (AS/Ind AS), and regulatory requirements (SEBI, ICAI, MCA, etc.

- Identify audit issues, discuss with clients, and recommend appropriate solutions.

- Ensure timely completion of audit engagements and quality deliverables.


Team Management


- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of audit associates and seniors.

- Allocate resources, monitor performance, and review audit documentation for quality and accuracy.

- Conduct technical and soft skills training for team members.


Client Management


- Build and manage strong client relationships; act as a key point of contact.

- Provide value-added insights and advisory on regulatory and accounting issues.

- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and discussions with senior stakeholders.


Technical & Regulatory Compliance


- Stay updated on changes in Indian accounting and auditing standards, corporate laws, and industry regulations.

- Interpret and apply latest amendments in Ind AS, Companies Act, SEBI LODR, CARO, Schedule III, etc.

- Review financial statements and other statutory reports as per applicable requirements.


Internal Initiatives


- Assist in business development, proposal preparation, and pitching for new clients.

- Participate in internal knowledge management, audit quality reviews, and process improvement initiatives.


Qualifications:


- CA (Chartered Accountant) Mandatory

- Articleship preferably from a reputed CA firm with statutory audit exposure


Key Skills & Competencies:


- Strong technical knowledge of Indian GAAP, Ind AS, and Standards on Auditing (SA)

- In-depth understanding of Companies Act, 2013, SEBI regulations, CARO, and Schedule III

- Experience handling audits of listed/unlisted Indian entities

- Good understanding of internal controls and risk-based audit approach

- Strong project management and multitasking ability

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and audit tools (CaseWare, IDEA, etc.) is a plus


Preferred Industry Exposure


- Prior Big 6 or top-tier CA firm experience is an advantage
