
Role Summary:
This role offers the opportunity to work in a crucial mix of energy, corporate finance, and commercial law, and requires a hands-on approach to managing legal risks and ensuring legal robustness across transactions and operations. The incumbent will work closely with the Finance team and various cross-functional teams including Projects, Regulatory, and Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and negotiate financing documentation including loan agreements, security documents, and related ancillary documentation.
- Ensure protection of company's interests as a borrower in all financial transactions.
- Support finance and legal teams during financial closures and compliance with conditions precedent and subsequent.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including EPC contracts, land agreements, supply agreements, and O&M contracts during various stages of project lifecycle.
- Provide legal support for both ongoing and new project developments across Construction, solar and wind sectors.
- Prepare, vet, and negotiate documents including MOUs, undertakings, NDAs, notices, and various support documents.
- Support legal due diligence, assist in transaction structuring, documentation, and manage signing/closing processes.
- Advise on applicable laws and regulations such as stamp duty, company law compliance, and sector-specific norms.
Skills & Competencies:
- Sound understanding and experience in banking &finance, M&A, private equity, or corporate commercial law.
- Comfortable working with a variety of commercial and corporate contracts with strong drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with ability to convey complex legal terms clearly.
- Ability to interpret legal documents, assess risks, and provide practical legal solutions.
- Exposure to the renewable/EPC energy industry is preferred
