Summary
The Candidate would work closely with the portfolio companies, and with internal teams at the firm. The Candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Investment, Finance and Impact team for portfolio management by streamlining data collection, updating reporting systems, generating timely MIS reports, and enabling informed decision-making. Candidate will require strong data handling skills, communication with portfolio companies, and coordination across internal teams.
Key responsibilities:
Portfolio Data Management:
- Regularly co-ordinate with portfolio companies (monthly, quarterly, Annual and/or on Ad-hoc basis) to gather operational, financial and impact and other data and documents to compile required information for purpose of statutory and Investor reporting requirements.
- Ensure timely receipt, accuracy and authenticity of the data collected from the portfolio companies
- Maintain and update trackers with status on the recurring reporting obligations and deliverables from portfolio companies.
- Data Management on Fund & Portfolio Management System:
- Input, update and validate data into the Fund & Portfolio Management Systems used by the Company
- Optimize use of the Fund & Portfolio Management Software by automation through preparing customized templates for the Company with help of the Vendor.
- Figure improvement opportunities in the system in partnership with vendor.
- Maintain a repository of all the data collected, presentations, requests received from different teams.
- MIS, Presentation and External Reporting
- Prepare monthly/ad-hoc MIS reports for internal stakeholders, summarizing key portfolio insights.
- Align reporting with fund mandates, investor requirements (LPs), and internal review protocols.
- Design and update presentation materials for investor reviews, board/IC meetings, and internal reviews.
- Schedule and coordinate periodic (monthly/quarterly) portfolio reviews; record and circulate minutes.
- Track & follow-up actions post-review meetings and ensure timely closure.
- Portfolio Valuation process
- Work with Finance Team to prepare valuation notes to be shared with Valuers and Auditors including underlying data
- Think out of the box to evolve valuation exercise in line with the needs of the Firm
- Other: Provide support to senior team members on ad-hoc analysis, initiatives, and administrative requirements as needed.
Person Profile
- Work Experience: 4-7 years of relevant experience in MIS, portfolio reporting, or operations in PE/VC/fund management/financial services.
Educational qualifications: CA or MBA Finance
Skill & Competence:
- Strong data management skills,
- Strong Excel, word and PowerPoint Skills,
- Attention to detail and dedication to quality,
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written,
- Ability to multi-task and work with multiple stakeholders
- Proactive and self-driven
