Role - Assistant Manager, FP&A and Financial Research
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Prior experience of at least 6 years in one or more of these areas - FP&A, financial research, M&A, Diligence, or financial modelling (having worked on a live PE deal is an advantage)
- Exceptionally polished written English with strong report writing and presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, other analytical tools, and financial analysis
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and strong quantitative abilities
- Strong technical abilities on financial reporting, GAAP, Excel modelling, business analysis, root cause analysis, business structures, management accounting.
- Exposure to multiple industry sectors in prior role
- Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
- Self-motivated and deadline-oriented with a commitment to high-quality work
- Should have led a team of analysts in prior roles
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Key Responsibilities - FP&A Delivery (40%)
- Participate in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes for client assignments, as a preparer or a lead, depending on the specific assignment
- Prepare high-quality board decks, investor presentations and spreadsheet analyses with consistency and conceptual understanding of underlying numbers
- Oversee preparation of MIS, KPIs, unit metrics, and consolidated financial reporting, including multi-currency environments
- Bring an understanding of underlying accounting, GAAP and internal control frameworks to bear in ensuring quality across all reporting and financial modelling processes
- Review junior team deliverables, driving accuracy, timeliness, and a structured approach to execution
- Bring relevant insight and analysis to handling FP&A deliverables, to facilitate clear processes, templates and data discipline for self and the whole team
- Interface with client stakeholders as assigned from time to time
Key Responsibilities - Finance Research (40%)
- Participate in conducting and review of financial and investment research across companies, industries, and markets, covering financial, commercial, and strategic aspects
- Train juniors on the team and maintain quality control to ensure the highest standards of research, sources and writing output
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity across all written deliverables, with strong documentation and confidentiality standards
- Synthesise complex financial data into concise insights for senior management and stakeholders
Projects vary depending on product development lifecycle and could include research from scratch, testing of reports produced by the tool, SOP reviews, development of financial models, and other associated tasks. The role requires very strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence. The person must maintain an awareness of global business and macroeconomic factors.
Key Responsibilities - Automation (20%)
- Bring a structured problem-solving approach to automation of finance and business processes, embedding strong controls to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
- Participate in design, build and enhancement of financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools using Excel, Power BI, Zoho Analytics, and other SaaS systems as relevant
- Define SOPs for such models and data, standardise workflows, and ensure data integrity across automated and manual processes
