
Role Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Assistant Manager for our Direct Tax team in Mumbai to spearhead complex tax compliance and advisory initiatives. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert, managing end-to-end direct tax lifecycles while collaborating closely with cross-functional finance teams, external consultants, and senior stakeholders. Your work will directly influence the organizations fiscal health by mitigating tax risks, optimizing tax positions, and ensuring seamless adherence to evolving regulatory frameworks. By providing strategic insights and maintaining rigorous compliance standards, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the companys financial integrity and supporting its long-term growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end direct tax compliance process, including the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns, to ensure 100% accuracy and adherence to statutory deadlines.
- Lead international taxation initiatives, including transfer pricing documentation and cross-border tax planning, to optimize the companys global tax footprint.
- Manage tax assessments and represent the organization before tax authorities to resolve disputes and secure favorable outcomes for the business.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis of tax provisions and deferred tax assets to provide accurate reporting for management and statutory audits.
- Advise internal stakeholders on the tax implications of new business ventures and operational changes to ensure proactive risk management and tax efficiency.
Required Skillset:
- Possess a deep functional understanding of the Income Tax Act, with a proven ability to interpret complex tax laws and apply them to real-world business scenarios.
- Demonstrate strong analytical capabilities to dissect financial data and translate it into actionable tax strategies that support organizational objectives.
- Exhibit exceptional communication skills, enabling you to articulate technical tax concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders and negotiate effectively with regulatory bodies.
- Maintain a professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant (CA) with 5 - 11 years of progressive experience in direct tax roles within a corporate or consulting environment.
- Show high adaptability to a hybrid work environment in Mumbai, maintaining productivity and team collaboration across both physical and digital workspaces.
- CA Passing Out Year 2019 or before.
