Job Title: Assistant Manager Direct & Indirect Taxation

Location: Worli, Mumbai

Experience Required:

- CA: 3+ years

- Any Graduate: 5+ years (with relevant taxation experience)

Job Summary:

- The Assistant Manager Direct & Indirect Taxation will be responsible for managing the companys tax compliance, tax planning, and regulatory requirements under both Direct and Indirect tax laws.

- The role involves end-to-end tax management, coordination with internal teams and external consultants, and ensuring accurate, timely filings and assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Taxation:

- Ensure timely filing of Income Tax returns and related statements.

- Handle Tax Audit, Transfer Pricing (if applicable), and related documentation.

- Assist in computation of advance tax, TDS, deferred tax, and annual tax provisions.

- Manage tax assessments, replies to notices, and follow-ups with tax authorities.

- Support in tax planning initiatives, risk analysis, and optimization of tax positions.

Indirect Taxation (GST):

- Oversee timely GST returns filing (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, Annual Return, Reconciliation).

- Review GST computations and ensure accuracy in input tax credits.

- Handle GST audits, departmental queries, and assessments.

- Monitor changes in GST laws and ensure compliance with updated regulations.

General Compliance & Advisory:

- Maintain accurate tax records, documentation, and internal controls.

- Coordinate with statutory auditors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

- Monitor amendments in tax laws and advise management on key implications.

- Ensure smooth month-end and year-end closing activities relating to taxes.

Required Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of Direct Tax (Income Tax Act) and Indirect Tax (GST Act).

- Hands-on experience in tax filings, audits, and departmental assessments.

- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Good interpersonal and communication skills for coordination across teams.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

- Proficiency in MS Excel, accounting systems, and tax compliance software.

Educational Qualification:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 3+ years of relevant experience.

- Graduate/Post-Graduate in Commerce with 5+ years of relevant taxation experience.
