For a Deputy Manager or Manager in client's statutory audit function, the job description closely aligns with audit leadership, team coordination, technical review, and direct client interaction. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage statutory audit engagements across various industries, from initial planning to completion, ensuring compliance with regulatory and firm standards.
- Supervise and review the work of audit teams, providing guidance, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring accurate, timely, and thorough completion of audit assignments.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and finalization of financial statements and audit documentation, ensuring they align with US GAAP, PCAOB, and other relevant regulations.
- Identify, assess, and address key audit and financial risks, recommending improvements for internal controls and business processes.
- Present significant audit findings, risks, and recommendations to senior management, audit committees, and client stakeholders, clearly communicating any potential impacts.
- Drive audit planning, scoping, materiality assessments, and completion of engagement deliverables within stipulated deadlines and budgets.
- Maintain active client relationships to proactively understand and address business needs, regulatory changes, and service opportunities.
- Continuously update knowledge of accounting standards, regulations, audit methodologies, and industry best practices to ensure technical excellence.
- Facilitate collaboration between cross-functional teams and departments as needed to resolve complex audit, control, or reporting issues.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- CA or CPA professional qualification mandatory.
- Minimum 5-10 years experience in statutory/external audit, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP, PCAOB, SOX, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.
- Advanced analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in audit and accounting software.
