We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager Planning to support production planning and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing production plans, ensuring plan adherence, coordinating with cross-functional teams, monitoring inventory levels, and providing analytical insights to support efficient manufacturing operations.


The role requires strong planning, analytical, and stakeholder management capabilities to ensure optimal production scheduling, inventory availability, and timely fulfillment of business requirements.


Key Responsibilities:


Production Planning & Scheduling:


- Prepare weekly and monthly production plans based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, production capacity, and business requirements.


- Balance production schedules to effectively manage demand fluctuations and capacity utilization.


- Generate procurement and material requirement plans considering lead times and inventory policies.


- Ensure timely communication of production, procurement, and dispatch plan changes to relevant stakeholders.


- Support capacity planning initiatives to optimize manufacturing efficiency and resource utilization.


Production Plan Execution:


- Monitor production progress against approved plans and proactively identify deviations.


- Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure adherence to production schedules.


- Work closely with plant operations to resolve production constraints, bottlenecks, and material shortages.


- Track key planning metrics and support corrective actions to improve plan attainment.


Inventory Management:


- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.


- Support inventory optimization initiatives to maintain target stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.


- Analyze inventory trends and recommend actions to improve inventory turnover and availability.


- Coordinate with procurement and production teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.


Reporting & Analytics:


- Prepare and maintain planning, production, inventory, and fulfillment reports.


- Analyze planning and operational data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.


- Develop dashboards and reports to support management decision-making.


- Track forecast accuracy, production adherence, inventory performance, and service-level metrics.


Stakeholder Coordination:


- Collaborate with Production, Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Packaging, Warehousing, and Distribution teams to ensure seamless plan execution.


- Coordinate with external vendors and manufacturing partners to support production requirements.


- Facilitate communication across departments to address planning challenges and operational priorities.

Required Skills & Experience


- 4- 9 years of experience in Production Planning, Supply Chain Planning, Demand Planning, Manufacturing Operations, or related functions.


- Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, forecasting, and supply chain processes.


- Experience working with ERP systems and planning tools.


- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.


- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.


- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.


Preferred Qualifications:


- MBA preferred


- Experience in FMCG, Consumer Goods, Manufacturing, Packaging, or Process Industries preferred.


- Knowledge of S&OP, demand forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory optimization methodologies is desirable.
