Assistant Manager - Credit/Underwriting - Supply Chain Finance

Role Overview

This role manages the full credit underwriting cycle for Supply Chain Finance programs. You will assess borrower eligibility, analyze financials and trade data, prepare credit notes, evaluate risks, support documentation, and monitor portfolio performance. The role also includes underwriting Cross-Border SCF such as Export Receivable Finance and Import Bill Discounting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Initial Screening

- Review login files for KYC, financials, GST, banking, and program details.

- Pull and interpret bureau reports; run KYC/AML/PEP checks.

- Prepare preliminary assessments with key highlights and observations.

2. Underwriting & Analysis

- Analyze financial statements, banking behaviour, GST trends, cash flows.

- Evaluate SCF structures-receivables, payables, vendor/distributor programs.

- Prepare Credit Assessment Memos with risk scoring, pricing, and covenants.

- Validate documentation with Legal.

3. Risk Evaluation

- Identify early warning signals and fraud indicators.

- Assess anchor/vendor dynamics, concentration risks, and industry exposures.

- Present cases to credit committees with clear risk justifications.

4. Disbursal Readiness

- Ensure fulfilment of sanction terms and documentation before disbursal.

- Review invoice eligibility, limits, pricing, and program setup.

5. Portfolio Monitoring

- Track utilization, ageing, GST/bank data, delinquencies, and exceptions.

- Support credit bureau reporting, audits, and policy/SOP updates.

6. Cross-Border SCF

- Underwrite export receivables and import bill discounting.

- Evaluate buyers, suppliers, banks, and country risks.

Must-Have Skills

- 6-8 years in SCF credit underwriting.

- Strong financial analysis and understanding of SCF products.

- Experience with bureaus, KYC/AML, and invoice/GST checks.

- Exposure to export/import financing structures.

- Proficiency in Excel, LMS, workflows, and risk tools.
